Waterfowl season to start soon in Missouri and Illinois. There will be plenty of camouflage, this late summer and early fall, as hunters hide in water fowl blinds, duck boats and along the shores.

Conservationists, who keep track of the duck habitat, say most areas of nesting are fair to exellent. There should be a good duck flight through these areas.
Some of the duck species that fly down from the north are Bluewings, Greenwings, mallards, pintails, gadwalls,woodies, goldeneyes and others.
An Illinois hunter must be 16 years or older. He (she) will need a 2009 or 2010 Ill. hunting license or a combination Sportsman liscense and a waterfowl stamp. He must show a current firearms I.D. card. If under the age of 21, must be accompanied by an adult and does not need the I.D. card.
A Missouri hunter needs a 2010 Missouri Small Game Hunting permit, a 2010 Migratory Bird Hunting & Conservation stamp (signed federal stamp) and an I.D.
