People like celebrity gossip and reading more about what their favorite Hollywood stars do behind the curtains and how they spend their vacations. Today, there are thousands of blogs on the internet that provide Hollywood gossip news and information. Few people think about the pioneers who merged blogs and Hollywood gossips together.
One of the pioneers in Hollywood gossip is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr. who is popularly known as Perez Hilton. Although he has publicly announced that he is gay he is one of the most influential bloggers that has written about musicians, actors and other celebrities in Hollywood. Before entering the world of blogging Perez Hilton had worked for many gay magazines and publications, but later switched to Hollywood gossip blogs because he felt that it was easier to express his thoughts and ideas through blogs rather than through magazines.
In the year 2005 Perez Hilton came up with his own blogging website called PageSixSixSix.com which was criticized by many reputed Hollywood celebrities and personalities for causing a lot of stir among the people. Later, he came up with another website named PerezHilton.com which went on to become one of the most successful blogging websites. To date, Perez Hilton has faced a lot of criticism from a lot of popular Hollywood artists and celebrities like Britney Spears, Fergie, DJ Samantha Ronson, and Colin Farrell. He also served as a judge for Miss USA 2009 but soon end up in a controversy over a religious question with one of the contestant.
