The Tennessee State Museum

Nashville, Tennessee is home of the Tennessee State Museum. The museum holds the history from the beginning of early colonized living to the more modern ways of life in the twentieth century. This building is home to one of the largest museums in the nation with interesting exhibits that will fascinate everyone.

The museum holds an array of history from the Civil War times, with items of interest such as battle flags, weapons, and uniforms. The museum also hosts a special military section, which displays weapons from the Spanish American War to World War 11. Other items that one would expect to find in this museum are old quilts, furniture, paintings, and a replica of an old printing shop. Items dating back from the times of Daniel Boone, Davy Crockett, and Andrew Johnson are also on display. Thousands of artifacts that hold a significant affiliation with famous Tennessee personalities, such as Elvis Presley, James Polk, and Alex Haley, may be viewed. The museum displays items that one would not particularly expect to see, such as Andrew Jackson's hair and a mummy. Reviews of this museum are highly favorable, and you can literally spend hours upon hours in amazement, touring through the interesting displays that this museum has to offer.

Lessons are offered to further one's education about certain exhibits that the museum displays. These lessons are available Monday through Friday, from 10:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. After touring the museum, visitors can take time to visit the museum's store, which offers souvenirs and memorabilia of Tennessee history, such as cards, books, crafts, jewelry, and other items of interest.
