Chattanooga, Tennessee

Located in Southeast Tennessee is the state’s fourth largest city, Chattanooga, acclaimed for revitalization of its downtown area and riverfront development. The Chattanooga Convention and Trade Center remains booked by groups returning year after year to avail themselves of facilities and opportunities to relax and enjoy the city.

The city and county have worked together to develop a greenway system, including five miles of a river-walk that begins downtown and then winds through the historic art district and several parks. It’s simple to park your car and ride about on the city’s fleet of electric buses serving both visitors and commuters. These zero-emission buses are actually manufactured in the city of Chattanooga.

Chattanooga serves as a base for those people who enjoy out-of-doors activities such as hang-gliding, fishing for bass, mountain climbing and cave exploration. There is the natural beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains with its Tennessee River, which allows for a great variety of flora that exceeds all other states. The local economy is supported by a combination of manufacturing and service industries, along with four colleges and several preparatory schools and a stable population.

Chattanooga’s tourist industry is based on attractions such as the Tennessee Aquarium, Lookout Mountain, the Appalachian Trail and events such as the Riverbend Festival, Fall Color Cruise and the Southern Writer’s Conference. A crowd favorite is the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway, often referred to as America’s Most Amazing Mile. As the incline climbs the mountain, the mountains and valleys of Chattanooga gives the passengers a view unlike any other and leaves one feeling they have just experienced being a passenger on the world’s steepest passenger railway.
