Your Favorite Zoo

What's your favorite zoo? Could it be the San Diego Zoo that you have the best memories of as a child? Possibly you have visited the Bronx Zoo, or even the Smithsonian National Zoological Park, located in Washington D.C. Whichever zoo you love, they all leave vivid impressions on our nature loving hearts.

Some parks offer children’s petting areas and offer interaction with the animals that reside within the zoo. Free admission is one reason so many enjoy the visit to the Smithsonian Zoo. Normally, the fees are very low. Special shows are offered with additional donations, which help the feeding and care for the animals.

At the Smithsonian, you can visit nearly 400 species, some of which are endangered. New exhibits are offered to the public often. Another unique idea is the open animal adoptions that are available to families and friends of the zoo.

Whether you live on the East Coast, or the far western region of the United States, a zoo is a favorite pastime for the young and old.

The St. Louis Zoo has been voted one of the best for children. This zoo features a huge playground for kids, children can see otters through a slide that dips right into a pool. Staff at the zoo bring forth reptiles, birds and other animals for the children to explore and learn about. Admission to this wonderful place of adventure is $4 per person, with the first hour of each day being free of admission.

Explore the endless adventures of a zoo with a group of friends, your children, or take a stroll alone and view all the magnificent creatures that reside in the beautiful surroundings of our country's zoos.
