The Tennessee State Museum has quite a history. It has been said to be dated back as far as 1817. It has been relocated from its original location, and is now located in the James Polk Center. The relocation happened in 1981. Originally, the site was located in the Nashville Public Square.
This museum has a ton of insightful memorabilia. The museum has an oil painting of General Andrew Jackson that has been in the collection since 1823. It has a lot of World War I artifacts and collections. as well. It also has artifacts and memorabilia from the Davey Crockett and Daniel Boone eras. This museum updates its exhibits all the time, but the old and original artifacts still remain. The hours of the museum are Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 am to 5 pm. They are also open on Sunday from 1 pm to 5 pm. The museum is closed on Mondays.
