The Tennessee State Museum is located in Nashville, Tennessee. Opening times are from 10 PM to 5 PM on Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 to 5 PM on Sundays. The museum is closed on Mondays and four holidays per year: New Years Day, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. The museum is the largest in Nashville, with more than 60,000 square feet of exhibitions.
After the General Assembly decided that the state needed to have a museum to place mementos from World War I, they opened the State Museum in 1937. It was moved into the new James K. Polk Center in 1981. The Tennessee State Museum has a lot of things inside of it that represents the past wars and famous people, from war heroes to Presidents. They have special programs for teachers to bring their classes for field trips to learn about the history of Tennessee.
All of the different artifacts that the museum holds are priceless items. They even have a store where you can buy different things to remember your time spent at the museum by. You can buy gifts here for those who were not able to make the trip with you.
Spending a few hours at the museum would not be enough time to see all three floors of exhibits. To tour the whole place would take the majority of a whole day. If you can plan a day trip there, try to do so. This way, you would not miss out on something.
