Pioneer Village is located on East Highway 6 in Minden, Nebraska. You truly can’t miss this extraordinary piece of real estate. It even has it’s own air strip for small planes to land and enjoy a bit of breakfast or lunch, do a bit of browsing, and then continue their journey. You will want to plan on at least half a day minimum to catch the highlights of this unique museum type property, but most end up staying much longer. There is even a motel, RV campground, and restaurant on the premises to make your stay more enjoyable. Since Pioneer Village is also classified an educational facility, there are meeting rooms and group rates available. There are discounted rates for children.
Here at Pioneer Village, the founder, Harold Warp, decided to spend his millions of dollars collecting original pieces of history. Antique tools, farm equipment, autos, toy collections, art collections, and general every day items are included among the some 50,000 plus piece collection dating from 1830 to 1960. However, Warp also included other types of “originals” which include a country church, general store, blacksmith shop, one-room schoolhouse, a Pony Express Station, and a house build of sod.
This unique village portrays how America started and grew through this particular time period, displaying each type of artifact in chronological order. All of the original buildings and artifacts are restored and in complete working order. Pioneer Village is truly a wonderful and enlightening experience for anyone.
