The term “Pioneer Village” is an official trademark of the Harold Warp Pioneer Village Foundation. The Pioneer Village is located in Minden, Nebraska. The Pioneer Village is based off an idea for the people of today to see the life of yesterday. Harold Warp founded this village in 1953. All the pieces in the beginning were relics from his hometown. The village is known for its prized “Merry-Go-Round,” which is said to still be rideable for a nickel. Other sights are said to be very interesting. The village is very cramped due to all of the sights that can be seen. The village has a hotel in it that is included with the price of admission. Luckily, if a day or two is not enough time to see everything, then you can stay up to three days on the same admission price.
The Pioneer Village is a large museum built to remind people of the things of the past. This includes the ideas and inventions that people take for granted now, like the piece of foil off of Edison's first phonograph. There are things like this that span a 120 years of forgotten creations on display there. The village is supposed to be a place to visit where fun and learning can be the same.
Harold Warp and Henry Ford started different companies in their time, but both were considered "captains of industry". Both Warp and Ford built museums to honor the moments they thought needed preserving throughout history. Warp's idea was to dedicate a place to the time in his life when he and Ford made their businesses and watched them grow into multimillion dollar companies. It soon grew to encompass his life, and his children's lives.
