Water Skiing is Fun and Great Exercise

Water Skiing is a great activity providing good exercise and also allowing the whole family to participate . Any one at any age can water ski, whether they are in the boat helping or behind the boat Water Skiing everyone is involved.

Water Skiing can be preformed on any large body of water that includes rivers, lakes, canals, and the Ocean. Before you enter the water make sure the skier and everyone in the boat has on life-jackets. Also make sure you have a spotter for safety, this person will relay hand signals from the skier to the driver, allowing the skier to slow down , go faster, or stop.

There are many varieties of water skiing, as a beginner using both skis is recommended as you progressively get better you can Slalom Ski, by dropping one ski and continue to skim across the water with the remanding ski. There is also Ski jumping, show skiing, trick skiing and barefoot skiing. All of these types of water skiing can also be done in competition, some races can last a few minutes or up to 1 hour others in intervals of 15-60 seconds.

Even if you don't have a boat you can join a water ski club or join up with a show water skiing team to have fun with out the pressure of competition. So if your looking for a new means of exercise, seeking the thrill of competition, or just looking for a new way to bring the family together, this fun in the sun sport is the way to go.
