If you are into adventure, rafting down the Colorado River is the perfect place for your next vacation. There are even special tour groups and guides that handle everything for you. You can go for one day, an overnight, or up to five days; the choice is all yours, depending on how much you want to see and experience.
The Colorado River starts high in the mountains and will take you all the way to the Pacific Ocean, if you want. Some of these rafting trips can take you on a 70 mile continuous journey through Little Gore and Red Gore Canyons. You will see a mixture of historical places, lush scenery, and even pass through some resort areas. The longer your trip, the more you get to adventure and explore the different stops along the way.
Rafting trips will take you through the Gore Mountain Range where you will experience some moderate rapids, as well as be able to enjoy the calm waters to take in all the sights. During your rafting trip, you will also get a chance to see some natural hot springs, historical cabins, take in some swimming, and maybe even do a bit of hiking.
You can make reservations for a one-day trip for about $70 per person. The minimum age of a rafting passenger is 5 years old. These trips run from May through the beginning of September. All of the prices include your meals, rafting gear, jackets, and your guide. Depending on the length of the trip you reserve, other gear is available for rent.
